How adorable are these flats? They’d go with everything: bright capris, pastel skirts, jeans. Oh dear. I’m in love.

I’m usually crushing on big, chunky, gold boyfriend watches, but then – then! – Kate Spade came out with these! Ooooo. Aaaaaaah.
The best part? They’re inscribed with happy-go-lucky idioms from “Tickled Pink” to “A Place in the Sun”. But my hands down favourite is the polka dot gold, “Make a Day of It.” Don’t mind if I do!

With V-day right around the corner, the blogosphere is flooded with lovey dovey cards (these Kate Spade Be Mine e-cards are so fun!). It’s got me thinking about romance. What’s your definition of it?
I’m starting to realize that all the “I’ve been waiting for yous” and “You’re too beautiful for mes”, might have meant a great deal to me in the moment, but I’ve come to resent them now, after things haven’t worked out. Words are easy. All you have to do is have a thought, open your mouth and let it spill out.
But gestures have always meant more. It’s more work to drive across town to pick me up during a snowstorm so I don’t have to drive in it. It’s more work to hike up the stairs at 5 a.m. to kiss me goodbye before work. It’s more work to shovel the snow off my car in the morning. When it comes to romance, more walk, less talk please.
Check out the beauties I got for Christmas! For some reason, I lose gold hoops a lot. But they’re such a classic accessory. They’re like the LBD of jewelry. So it was a great surprise to find these under the Christmas tree. And then of course, my Kate Spade necklace. This thing is huge! At first I was a bit daunted by the size of it. But it really does grow on you. I wear it every second day now.
I’m convinced that Kate Spade could take the worst day of your life and transform it into the best. Check out her new book called Things We Love.

I’m picky. I’m picky about the clothes I wear, the food I eat, the books I read. So it only makes sense that I’d be picky about the boys I date too. And just like my never ending search for the perfect little red dress, I sometimes feel like my search for that guy who’d suit me just right is never ending too.
But I can’t bring myself to date someone if it doesn’t feel right. Whether it’s a couple of dates in or a couple of months in, I really feel awful telling a guy that I don’t want to see him again. I’ve been on the receiving end of it and know how discouraging it can be. So I try to be respectful. I try to be understanding. I try to be graceful. This week I was in the awkward position of telling a guy I didn’t want to go on a third date with him. I didn’t mention that I thought it was awful that every other question he asked me was sexual. I didn’t mention that his story about cracking a girl’s ribs playing dodgeball was a turnoff. I didn’t mention his sarcasm was borderline rude. But he certainly wasn’t pleased with my omission. “You’re clueless,” he said. “You’ll never find the love you’re looking for.” Perhaps not. But I refuse to give up on love. And quite honestly I know in my heart of hearts that he’s out there. And so is the dress.
I’ve put this necklace on my holiday wish list. It’s Kate Spade’s Hang in There Typewriter necklace. It’s got the perfect inscription for me – “Just My Type”. A nice reminder that holding out for something that fits you perfectly is better than settling for the so-so.
The promo for Kate Spade’s new fragrance, Twirl, is magical. The girl to wear it? According to Kate (we’re on a first name basis, don’t you know) she’d have a cocktail in hand and confetti in her hair. Right up my alley. Oh! And the fragrance? Pink watermelon with blackberry and red currant and notes of orange blossom, star jasmine, tiare flower, sweet magnolia, musk and french macaroon. Yum!
I’ve been very naughty this year and didn’t send out any Christmas cards. I hope Santa still makes his way to my house! Here’s what I would have sent by the fabulous Kate Spade.
