Have an Easy, Breezy Weekend!

Hello friends! I am pretty excited about this weekend. Firstly, it feels like spring in Ottawa. I’ve been wearing my trench, donning pastels and bright colours, and soaking in the sun these days. This weekend is going to be fabulous. I’m babysitting the cutest kid that’s ever graced this earth tonight and then feasting on chocolate tomorrow a.m. at a chocolate brunch. What are you up to?

Libby at the Dog Park

“Mom, when can we leave?”

This is Libby’s general viewpoint on off leash dog parks. She either heels like a pro as we wander around the park or she sits on my foot. She likes other dogs but they simultaneously spark her curiosity and her reliance on Mama. Meanwhile labradors are frolicking, poodles are sniffing butts, and daschunds are running as fast as their little legs can carry them. But Libby? Libby wants none of it. Libby wants to leave. After 10 minutes of watching the other pups making merry while I stand around chatting with other dog owners with a fluff ball parked on my foot, I begin to feel like an impostor. A dog park impostor! We’re forced to leave with our tails between our legs. Le sigh. I hope with more visits to the park, Libby comes out of her shell and gets her frolic on. You can do it, sweet pup!

Ruby’s Room

Joy created the loveliest little haven for her daughter Ruby. It’s such a nice mix of quirky and feminine. I love that it doesn’t scream, “This is a baby’s room!!!” There are no murals. There’s no overwhelming theme. It’s just a lovely space for sweet Ruby and her mama to spend time in. If you haven’t read Joy’s blog, Oh Joy, yet, what in zee heck have you been doing? It’s probably the blog that got me into blogging in the first place. Enjoy

Happy March!

Ron Van Dongen

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold:  when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.
– Charles Dickens –

Every March, I buy hyacinths  and let their scent waft its way through my apartment. What a wonderful welcome home. March is the month to invest in a good pair of hunter boots, swap out your wintry front door wreath for a floral one, and embrace all things green. It might still be nippy outdoors, but there’s no mistaking spring is a comin’.
