Cherry Blossoms

Flowers don’t shrivel up and die when the cold weather sets in in Vancouver. Instead they cling to life, turning strange, beautiful shades of deep purple in December. In late February and early March, the cherry blossoms bloom and line Victoria Ave. with pretty-in-pink petals. With 20+ cm of snow expected in Ottawa today, these are the days that I miss Vancouver the most.
